What happens when you combine a family perfectly styled, with the chicest resort in Scottsdale, a cool summer morning (well coolish) Well pretty much magic. The Mountain Shadows Resort in Paradise, valley is a newly renovated hotel nestled at the base of camelback mountain. Views for days with a very hip and mod feel. I guess the hotel was stomping grounds for celebrities like Liz Taylor back in the day (like the 60’s) and the hotel still has that mid century feel. I went for a film like feel on my editing, a little artsy a little journalistic. I admit I kind of hate the film editing trend… BUT for this shoot we needed a little vintage cool vibe. Using the interesting architecture and lines this resort has to offer angles and composition we’re forefront in my images. Yes we still did posed, looking at camera but we also had some fun. This family is oozing style classy and proper but so much fun.. I take no credit on that aspect they stepped it up!
The indoor images were an editing mess, since there is overhead tungsten lighting orange casting all OVER… but with some external lighting and a little photoshop fun I was able to make them killer. OMG look at that little one?! Adorbs. I WISH all my clients had access to this resort. I would be here all the time if I could! I need a wedding here stat! Any brides?
Thanks for checking me out. More on my website. http://www.sarawatermanphotography.com. Im a Scottsdale based photographer. A mom of 4 amazing kiddos 7, 5 and 2 year old twins. I’m obsessed with photography. It’s my favorite thing to do, I literally get butterflies before my shoots because I”m so excited…. and I’m in year 3 (or is it 4?) you would think it would become mundane… nope!
